Resilient. Revolutionized.
Meet us at 78 Degrees Restaurant and Lounge
Hard to believe that so much time has passed since our last post. The past year has taught so much - especially that PERSISTENCE is key. And so...we persist.

| King Danskie & Band - Bringing the Energy |
This is a special issue to all our family, friends and, in general, our avid supporters. You know and understand that it's a journey...and you're right there with us. Thank You!
Together with our sister brand, Tropical Current, MaHDD Energy is on the scene in Lilburn. And we're making a scene about it. See what we did there? :-)
With the weather-related cancellation of the McDonough Jerk Festival this year, we were unable to encapsulate an electrifying performance video of sheer MaHDD Energy. So...we're going to MAKE it happen. But we cannot do it without your presence.
"Chill" with us at 78 Degrees
Do you have reason to celebrate? Birthday month? Anniversary? We're talking about the newest, coolest, and yet the hottest spot in metro Atlanta. Now, THIS is somewhere you can relax, eat good food and drinks, and absorb the fun, beautiful sounds of a live band and popular DJs. And the best part, you no longer have to drive all the way to downtown Atlanta to experience these vibes.

Celebrating National Caribbean Heritage Month with CAG
Events this week: The Caribbean Association of Georgia
After a hiatus, here at MaHDD T'ings we are simply picking up where we left off. We are always moving forward so here we are, halfway in 2015, and we are still on the journey. Praise to the Almighty!

June is National Caribbean Heritage Month and we are celebrating our Caribbean Heritage. There is more to us than just party and food - believe that, however, it IS a large part of our culture. After all, we are a people that believe that one should ENJOY life. Slow down sometimes, smell the roses...and whatever else you like to smell :-).
This week is special too as we work with the Caribbean Association of Georgia (CAG), one of the most active, non-profit organizations in Georgia. The Association is
"...dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of society's most vulnerable by providing necessary services to the Georgia and Caribbean Community...committed to...playing a catalytic role in educating, enlightening, empowering, encouraging, inspiring, and informing others. "

Then on Saturday, the organization invites you to the 6th Annual Caribbean Cultural Festival. This is a FREE family-friendly event so come out, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The flyer with all the information is at the bottom of the blog.
So your TO DO List would look like this:
- Watch the Morning show on Fox 5 Atlanta with Paul Milliken Thursday, June 18, 2015
- Come out on Saturday 1PM to 8PM and enjoy the Festival.
A picture is worth at least thousands of words. Watch the Atlanta Dream fully involved with sharing the Caribbean Culture.
Sancho & Aneika enjoyed themselves visiting Tabernacle of Praise Church Int'l sharing information about their Caribbean culture and making Caribbean masks with the children! #LiveIt

Highlights from the McDonough Jerk Festival 2014
With getting ready for our big Tropical Current Brand launch (more details very soon), there is just enough time to highlight our experience at the 8th Annual McDonough Jerk Festival (2014). And...pictures vividly portray the experience.
Though a small number the participants were friendly and enthusiastic. It had a been a long time since I' was in any Carnival-like parade...and it was fun. I think I will be doing that again.
The McDonough Jerk Festival has already outgrown the Square where it was held in previous years. The event's organizers, Scotty and Sylvia, promise more with the parade beginning with next year's Festival.
The city of McDonough is to be commended for its full support for the parade and their management throughout the McDonough Jerk Festival.
There were jumpy contraptions that drove my young niece to try every trick in the book to get me to take her over there. Her persistence won.
The vendors provided delicious food and treats for all. The park was well populated and reports are that the Jerk Festival was larger than the previous year. Organizers Sylvia and Scotty graciously thanked attendees, the mayor, local press, participants and the city of McDonough.
The images below seek to capture the experience of the Festival. Missing is Drea Love's performance due to technical difficulties. Please submit if you have a photo of her performance.
We are looking forward to McDonough Jerk Festival 2015, parade, mas bands and more. On behalf of the MaHDD Energy team, we had an awesome time. It was MaHDD! :-)

Summer Wrap-up; Labor Day Weekend 2014
This year, instead of the usual run to New York for Labor Day, The MaHDD Energy™ and team remained in Atlanta. We were definitely not disappointed.
Looka People
With an influx of visitors from everywhere, the generic forecasted number of visitors in and around the metro Atlanta area was in the "hundreds of thousands" based on a variety of large events ranging from Dragon Con to the Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins game.Lots of Caribbean-Themed Activities
You would think that it would be difficult to find enough authentic Caribbean-themed events to satisfy our interest. After all, New York is the place for that, right? Well not anymore. New York, Atlanta is definitely giving you some competition as it has become a viable Labor Day weekend destination for those seeking to experience and celebrate a peaceful piece of the Caribbean Culture.Defining Activities

| Flyer for the Festival |
This year, not only were there the traditional activities like the now famous Atlanta Caribbean Jerk Fest, but there was also the brand new, Inaugural International Cultural Festival & Soccer Exhibition at Fort Valley State University. Fort Valley State University is a public HBCU (Historically Black University). The current president, Dr. Ivelaw Griffith (since July 2013), is focused on embracing diversity and, along with his team, is "dreaming global culture" and "doing global culture." Yes. They are doing it with action and not merely words.
